We've all been in school, or are still in school, and understand that it is a system of constantly being told what to do and when to do it. You are taught discipline, to "not disrupt", and generally are discouraged to do things "your way", but to follow exactly what the teachers say to do instead.
It is understandable for some subjects such as math, where a certain method is followed in order to achieve the desired result and answer, but for classes that are supposed to require creativity, the school, to simplify the process of "learning" give us students a specific structure to follow.
Now, for those of us who have a creative mind, being given something to 'memorize' and apply to a project that students should've had full creativity freedom to do kills all the joy in participating and learning in school. Not going to lie, school is boring enough as it is, and with the school system now killing the only remainder of the fun, there is absolutely no point in trying to express yourself at all.
Adults these days are always blaming the lack of creativity from us millennials on the smart devices that are being used, and sure, that probably is a contributing factor, but the way the school systems are functioning and developing is for sure a big part of why kids these days are losing their ability to be creative.
