Infertility has become a major issue which means the couple is not able to conceive naturally. With the advancement in technology, it has become easy to know the reason so that the treatment plan is given according to that. In this guide, we are going to discuss the female fertility test.

Introduction

Many couples are facing trouble conceiving due to which they need to get the infertility treatment. But, patients often wonder how they can know about their fertility. In that case, there are different fertility test which can help the couple to know what is the problem.

The good news is that the fertility test helps to diagnose the reason and this way the IVF doctor can give you a treatment plan of IVF.

If you are having trouble conceiving and planning to visit the IVF centre then here are a few fertility tests your doctor will do.

Determining the fertility status

Female Fertility test

Women who are facing trouble conceiving will undergo a fertility test. It will take up to one hour to know about the patient's medical history, do ultrasound, and check the BMI. Mostly, it is done during the menstrual cycle. As per the results, your doctor is going to tell you the ways to conceive.

Fertility test of a couple

With the female fertility test, the semen analysis is included. Firstly, the semen analysis is done and then female check-up is done. After that, comes the consultation in which the doctor will tell you the options you can choose from. The test can be done on the same day.

Important Note

For the semen analysis, the patient needs to abstain the intercourse for 2 to 5 days. The embryologist will determine the sample and then the results will be given to you.

FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone)

This test helps in determining the hormone levels. FSH is very essential as it helps in stimulating the egg growth before they release from the ovaries. Its level must be proper so that women can conceive without any issue.

This test is best as it helps to know if you have any issues related to fertility, menstrual cycle, ovaries disease, or problems with the pituitary gland.

But, yes, the test results can get affected if the patient is facing any medical condition, at what stage of cycle test is done, and if you are using any contraception.

Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH)

This test is also for the hormone level. The AMH is released by the developing eggs and it helps the doctor to know about ovarian reserve and the total number of fertility years the patient has.

The results of this test will not get affected even if the women are taking the contraceptive pills. Your doctor will let you know which option is best for you.

Fertility consultation & scan

Every case is different from others so our doctor makes sure initial consultation and scan are done. This way the treatment plan is customized which helps in improving the conception chances.

Hysterosalpingo-contrast-sonography

HyCoSy is a very common and important test to determine the health of the fallopian tubes with the ultrasound. Not just the fallopian tubes but the issue with ovaries and uterus will be identified with this test. It takes 30 minutes and the patient feels slight discomfort. Patients undergoing IUI will also undergo this to make sure the sperm will meet the egg.

If you want to know which test is best for you then book your appointment with our doctor today only.
